What my sons taught me about winning
Winning used to mean headlines. Points on the board. Rings on the hand
Winning used to mean headlines. Points on the board. Rings on the hand.
But when I became a father, winning changed.
Now it means being there. It means modeling consistency — not perfection. It means letting them see me try, fall short, and try again with grace.
My sons taught me that presence is power. That listening beats lecturing. (Still working on that) That the real win is who they become — not just what they achieve.
Every lesson I’ve shared with them was ones I had to live first: Be disciplined. Be honest. Show up. Protect those you love. Do your best. Build something real.
Legacy isn’t only what we leave behind. It’s what we live out. Share. Teach. Learn — one day at a time.
